Savage Family, X Vandals Outta the Bronx, Alas, and Shining Soul
Building a culture of resistance through hip hop and art, and to inspire and educate others through hip hop, these artists are revolutionary artists, that use art to continue to build movement and solidarity across all sectors. To educate and inform, to fight oppression and stand up for our rights, to inspire and fight back. To remember the importance of our planet and water. It is up to us to create a vision for our future.
BBQ at 6:00pm, show begins at 8:00pm, Friday May 16
A few weeks back, Joyakgol was visiting the Bay Area and stopped by the Qilombo to give an awesome talk. He gave us a history of Anarchism in Korea since the Japanese-colonial period and gave us insight into the present. If you missed the talk–you can watch the video here.
We officially re-opened in February, and have been busy putting in work, but we finally got around to releasing our opening announcement.
We now have 4 functioning public computers in the space, increasing digital access for visitors to the Qilombo!
Coming this summer will be free technology trainings, watch the Qilombo website and calendar for updates and more info!
These computers are actively maintained, however we are in dire need of spare peripheral parts such as keyboards, mice, monitors, and various cables in order to keep everything up and running, and to increase the number of machines available in the future!
Donations are accepted during any of our open hours, or during events, just leave them at the front desk.
Joyakgol gave a fantastic talk on the history of Korean Anarchism from the Japanese colonial period to the present on Tuesday. We were happy to host them, and express our solidarity with those struggling to protect JeJu island from the construction of a U.S. military base!
This began today at Qilombo!
Every Wednesday from noon to three come to the graffiti skill share to learn, practice, and transform the look of the space.
Beginning this Wednesday and continuing for the next month or so, one of our comrades will be skillsharing grafitti skills inside and outside of the space.
Come help throw up some dope murals in Qilombo, all ages welcome!
Today was the first day of the Qilombo food distro! This time around we had kale, broccoli, grapes, parsley, cilantro, apples, as well as rice and beans by donation (.50c-$1.00)
We’ll be out here every Sunday sorting and packing, feeding ourselves and the community. Come volunteer and take a bag home for yourself!
